|Description:||PURPOSE: The Purchasing Agent's is responsible for site direct and indirect spend including leading and executing the tendering process and gathering supporting data to ensure compliance and audit trail.|
o Site quoting, ordering, negotiation and supplier management process
o Capture and document detailed analysis to support the process
o Enter all purchase orders into the ERP system and contact suppliers to follow up on agreed deliveries, quotations, etc.
o Supplier Relationship Manager for the Site
o Ensure all purchase orders are dealt with in a timely and confidential manner
o Budget and delivery of site cost reduction targets
o Assist in achieving site cash and other budget targets
o Be aware of the legislation surrounding the procurement function
o Adhere to the Procurement Function policy and procedures at all times
o Ensure Lean principles and continuous improvement strategy are adhered to
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
o Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree.
o Background required within a Procurement Function
o Negotiation skills
o Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
o Knowledge of budget management
o Knowledge of Microsoft business suite products
o Some travel is required
o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
o Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
o Ability to effectively present information in written and oral form using various methods.
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
o Ability to compute percentages, discounts, surcharges, and to display results through various graphs.
o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Working knowledge of various software as used by the company.
o While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
o The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
